SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
Those students with disabilities or special educational needs may contact the Service of Attention to Diversity and Volunteering (ADYV - https://www.um.es/adyv) to receive guidance on better use of their training process and, where appropriate, the adoption of measures of equalization and improvement for inclusion, under the Rectoral Resolution R-358/2016. The treatment of information about this student body, in compliance with the LOPD, is strictly confidential.
ASSESSMENT
In the assessment process, Article 135.1(v) of the Statutes of the University of Murcia, Article 8.6 of the Student Assessment Regulations (REVA), and Instruction SG 18/2026 issued by the Secretary General of the University of Murcia, which interprets these provisions, shall apply. The instruction is available at the following link: https://sede.um.es/sede/documento/normativa/instruccion-del-secretario-general-sg-18-2026-sobre-la-interpretacion-y-aplicacion-del-art-135-1-v-estatutos-umu/24199.pdf
Students are also reminded that Article 22.1 of the Student Assessment Regulations (REVA) provides that "any student who engages in fraudulent conduct, including the improper misrepresentation of identity or authorship, or who is in possession of means or instruments that facilitate such conduct, shall receive a grade of zero in the assessment process and may, where appropriate, be subject to disciplinary sanctions following the initiation of disciplinary proceedings."
To pass the subject with the weighting established in the evaluation system, students must attend at least 85% of the practical sessions. In the event of not meeting this requirement, the student will be evaluated through an alternative system (practical proficiency) complying with the Statutes of the University of Murcia regarding student rights and class attendance regulations. In such a case, students must adequately document the impossibility of complying with the required face-to-face attendance.
This other evaluation option entails, in addition to the instruments defined in the evaluation, a practical proficiency exam composed of theoretical-practical scenarios in which the student must prove that they have developed the competencies defined for this subject. This exam will be graded as PASS / FAIL. To obtain a PASS, the student must achieve at least a score of 5 points in each of the questions. Once passed, the grade will be calculated using the evaluation instruments defined in the evaluation section.
Similarly, once the practical part of the subject has been completed and passed in an academic year, students will not be obliged to retake it.
Regarding practical classes, being 10 minutes late or leaving 10 minutes early will be penalized with a half-attendance; if it is more than 15 minutes, it is penalized with the loss of full attendance, although the student may still attend the class. In this regard, the order of practical activities is only a forecast, so it may not correspond to their future real chronological sequencing, which will be determined by the teaching staff according to the development of the sessions. On the other hand, the conditions for participating in practical classes will be explained on the first day of class and posted in the virtual classroom.
In both evaluation systems, in case of failure, the student's score in the passed sections will be respected for subsequent exam calls.
Regarding the recovery of the ES (Evaluation Systems) indicated in this teaching guide, the following will be considered:
- In the call in which the teaching of this subject is delivered, there is no right to recover the continuous evaluation composed of evaluation systems ES2 and ES6, except in the cases of art. 8.6 of the REVA.
- Evaluation Systems ES3 and ES6 will be recovered by submitting the assignments through the "Assignments" tool within the deadlines indicated in the announcement published on the subject's site (Virtual Classroom).
Since there may be differences in terms of methodology, the way contents are taught, and the evaluation system, if a student does not pass the subject in an academic year, they must adapt to the conditions stipulated in the teaching guide for that new course.
This subject is directly linked to the Sustainable Development Goals 3 (SDG3) "Good Health and Well-being" and Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) "Quality Education".
