  3. The Master's Thesis (MT) is a compulsory course for students enrolled in a Master's Degree. The MT is a personal and autonomous piece of work intended for students to show the skills and contents gained throughout the degree programme. It will always be developed under the supervision of a tutor who will guide the student and it will be publicly and individually presented and defended.

    1. Basic competencies
      • CB6: Poseer y comprender conocimientos que aporten una base u oportunidad de ser originales en el desarrollo y/o aplicación de ideas, a menudo en un contexto de investigación

    The tutor will evaluate the student throughout the course based on different aspects of both the attitude of the student in carrying out the TFM (attendance at planned work meetings, punctuality in the delivery of the documentation, etc), as well as the quality of the work, its writing, its technical coherence, etc The quality of the corresponding executive summary and of the preparation of the presentation before the Evaluation Court The student will have to deliver two drafts (deadlines are provided at the beginning of the process) The work must be original to the student so that it can be approved

    SE5 Evaluación mediante defensa pública del Trabajo Fin de Máster ante el tribunal.

    A panel will assess the adequate defense of the work by the student, taking into account factors such as the feasibility and applicability of the work, the means, the quality and format of the presentation, the language, voice and rhythm used in it, the ability to respond to questions asked by the members of the panel, etc

    A minimum mark of 4 out of 10 must be obtained in this element. Otherwise the tutor's mark will not be added to this mark to calculate the average.

The Master's Final Project (TFM) is a compulsory subject that the student must take to obtain the Master's degree It is a personal and autonomous work of the student whose purpose is to carry out in an integrated way of the contents and competences that have been acquired with the rest of the subjects and/or subjects that make up the curriculum It will always be developed under the supervision of a tutor that will guide the student in its elaboration, and must be presented and defended individually and publicly

    It is essential to have approved the mark granted by the tutor to be able to access the presentation/ defense of the TFM.

    In order to pass the TFM, two conditions must be met:

    1- A minimum grade of 4 points out of 10 must be obtained in the oral defense. This grade is obtained as the arithmetic average of the grade awarded by each of the members of the panel.

    2- A mean of 5 points out of 10 must be obtained after adding the tutor's mark and the panel's mark.

    SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS

    Those students with disabilities or special educational needs may contact the Service of Attention to Diversity and Volunteering (ADYV - https://www.um.es/adyv) to receive guidance on better use of their training process and, where appropriate, the adoption of measures of equalization and improvement for inclusion, under the Rectoral Resolution R-358/2016. The treatment of information about this student body, in compliance with the LOPD, is strictly confidential.

    STUDENT EVALUATION REGULATIONS

    Article 8.6 of the Student Evaluation Regulation (REVA) provides that "except in the case of activities defined as compulsory in the teaching guide, if the student is unable to follow the continuous evaluation process due to duly justified supervening circumstances, he/she shall be entitled to take a global test".

    It is also recalled that Article 22.1 of the Student Evaluation Regulations (REVA) stipulates that "the student who uses fraudulent conduct, including the improper attribution of identity or authorship, or is in possession of means or instruments that facilitate such conduct, will obtain a grade of zero in the evaluation procedure and, where appropriate, may be subject to sanction, after opening disciplinary proceedings".
