  3. Nowadays, cost management is an essential aspect for the company, if it is oriented towards efficiency and maximizing the activities that add value to the customer

    Decisions in the company are made considering its departments: technical, financial, commercial, strategic, etc Although the final decision combines these various approaches, the decision-making process improves if the financial aspect is clear, that is, if the impact that each alternative may have on the income statement can be estimated

    The purpose of this course is to introduce the participant to financial management and to delve into cost control in the company Starting from a brief review of the most important concepts in relation to cost accounting, the necessary tools for cost management will be presented, that is analysis, control and cost reduction

      • Practical activity 1: Panificadora La Altagracia

        The practical exercise that is proposed is a compilation of all the knowledge acquired during the module Based on real data from a running company, the student will carry out the calculations of the different cost components studied through the excel application Thus, starting from the financial accounting operating account, you will learn how to calculate the cost of raw materials, labour and manufacturing overheads, first starting with a full cost model and then with a model of variable cost (Direct Costing), obtain the production cost of two goods as well as the corresponding margins, data that will allow you to make the appropriate management decisions

    • Identify the organisation of foreign exchange markets, as well as the financial instruments of which they are composed
    • Identify business opportunities through the combined analysis of price levels and exchange rates
    • Make decisions on hedging contractual foreign exchange risk using appropriate financial instruments
    • Analyse how Export Credit Insurance works and its complementarity with means of payment
    • Identify the common elements in all medium and long-term financing
    • Differentiate the applicable financing structures depending on whether the operation is carried out in an emerging or developed country
    • Interpret how the terms and conditions of the commercial contract affect the financing of medium and long-term operations
    • Diagnose the different variables that may affect an investment project in order to generate the Business Plan

    • Know the necessary steps to carry out a Business Plan and obtain the necessary data for the preparation of the Feasibility Plan

    STUDENT EVALUATION REGULATIONS

    Article 8.6 of the Student Evaluation Regulation (REVA) provides that "except in the case of activities defined as compulsory in the teaching guide, if the student is unable to follow the continuous evaluation process due to duly justified supervening circumstances, he/she shall be entitled to take a global test".

    It is also recalled that Article 22.1 of the Student Evaluation Regulations (REVA) stipulates that "the student who uses fraudulent conduct, including the improper attribution of identity or authorship, or is in possession of means or instruments that facilitate such conduct, will obtain a grade of zero in the evaluation procedure and, where appropriate, may be subject to sanction, after opening disciplinary proceedings".
