  3. In this course, Personality Psychology, the following objectives and skills are sought:

    1. The first is for the student to compare and contrast the principal theories and models in personality psychology and to identify conflicts that have arisen over time with regard to concepts of personality, the main aspects and methodologies in its study, up to the present day
    2. The second objective aims to allow the student to identify the most important variables in personality and their relationship to and implications on ¿¿health in general and on mental health in particular
    3. The third and final objective aims to teach the student to evaluate personality through the understanding and practice of the principal procedures and personality evaluation tests in three fundamental contexts: clinical, educational and work

    In order to optimise learning and the acquisition of the course competences, it is recommended students keep in mind some basic notions acquired in the previous semester in the course Individual Differences, concerning research methods in psychology, the basic concepts of psychometrics regarding the validity and reliability of psychometric tests used to evaluate personality

    6. It is desirable that students have a basic understanding of research methods in psychology and of basic concepts of psychometrics regarding the validity and reliability of the psychometric tests used to assess personality

    1. Basic competencies
      • CB1: Que los estudiantes hayan demostrado poseer y comprender conocimientos en un área de estudio que parte de la base de la educación secundaria general, y se suele encontrar a un nivel que, si bien se apoya en libros de texto avanzados, incluye también algunos aspectos que implican conocimientos procedentes de la vanguardia de su campo de estudio
      • CB3: Que los estudiantes tengan la capacidad de reunir e interpretar datos relevantes (normalmente dentro de su área de estudio) para emitir juicios que incluyan una reflexión sobre temas relevantes de índole social, científica o ética
      • CB5: Que los estudiantes hayan desarrollado aquellas habilidades de aprendizaje necesarias para emprender estudios posteriores con un alto grado de autonomía

      • CE12: Identificar, describir y medir las características relevantes del comportamiento de los individuos (personalidad, inteligencia y otras aptitudes, procesos cognitivos, emocionales, psicobiológicos y conductuales), grupos, organizaciones (procesos de interacción, la dinámica de los grupos y la estructura grupal e intergrupal, así como, organizacional e inter-organizacional) y contextos mediante los métodos, técnicas e instrumentos propios de la evaluación psicológica.
      • CE13: Seleccionar y administrar técnicas e instrumentos propios y específicos de la Psicología y ser capaz de evaluar la propia intervención.
      • CE15: Elaborar informes psicológicos en distintos ámbitos de actuación, dirigidos a los destinatarios y a otros profesionales.

    OBSERVATIONS:

    Observations on Evaluation:

    • The Test of Theoretical Contents (60%) and the Test of Practical Contents (20%) may be integrated in a single evaluation system of theoretical-practical contents for the global and extraordinary exams (they will account for 85% of the (they will account for 80% of the overall mark) In order to pass the subject, it will be necessary to pass this part (grade > or = 5 out of 10)
    • The assessment of assignments (5%), reports (10%) and training activities (5%) linked to the practical sessions of the Seminars may be integrated into a single evaluation system for the global and extraordinary exams (they will account for 15% of the overall grade) In order to pass the course, this part must be passed (grade > or = 5 out of 10)
    • All the assessment systems may be integrated into a single assessment system for the extraordinary exams
    • Bonuses from the Research Incentive System (maximum 5 bonuses) are admitted only when the student must have passed the subject (overall grade > or = 5)

    • Evaluation: Delivery of an individual report with a synthesis of the most relevant ethical or legal considerations of the presented case

    STUDENT EVALUATION REGULATIONS

    Article 8.6 of the Student Evaluation Regulation (REVA) provides that "except in the case of activities defined as compulsory in the teaching guide, if the student is unable to follow the continuous evaluation process due to duly justified supervening circumstances, he/she shall be entitled to take a global test".

    It is also recalled that Article 22.1 of the Student Evaluation Regulations (REVA) stipulates that "the student who uses fraudulent conduct, including the improper attribution of identity or authorship, or is in possession of means or instruments that facilitate such conduct, will obtain a grade of zero in the evaluation procedure and, where appropriate, may be subject to sanction, after opening disciplinary proceedings".
