SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
Those students with disabilities or special educational needs may contact the Service of Attention to Diversity and Volunteering (ADYV - https://www.um.es/adyv) to receive guidance on better use of their training process and, where appropriate, the adoption of measures of equalization and improvement for inclusion, under the Rectoral Resolution R-358/2016. The treatment of information about this student body, in compliance with the LOPD, is strictly confidential.
ASSESSMENT
In the assessment process, Article 135.1(v) of the Statutes of the University of Murcia, Article 8.6 of the Student Assessment Regulations (REVA), and Instruction SG 18/2026 issued by the Secretary General of the University of Murcia, which interprets these provisions, shall apply. The instruction is available at the following link: https://sede.um.es/sede/documento/normativa/instruccion-del-secretario-general-sg-18-2026-sobre-la-interpretacion-y-aplicacion-del-art-135-1-v-estatutos-umu/24199.pdf
Students are also reminded that Article 22.1 of the Student Assessment Regulations (REVA) provides that "any student who engages in fraudulent conduct, including the improper misrepresentation of identity or authorship, or who is in possession of means or instruments that facilitate such conduct, shall receive a grade of zero in the assessment process and may, where appropriate, be subject to disciplinary sanctions following the initiation of disciplinary proceedings."

Observations for assessment:
This subject can be passed in May-June (2nd call), June-July (3rd call) or in the 1st call (only for students of 2nd or subsequent enrolments, December-January).
2nd call (May-June).
- In the last 10 school days of the first term there will be a partial exam of the content of the first term (EX1). Students who obtain a grade higher or equal to 4 out of 10 will be able to “eliminate subject matter” in the final exam in May-June (EXF2).
- May-June final exam (EXF2). It will have two modalities: A first model, “complete”, with contents of the whole course (first and second four-month period), and a second model “partial” (EX2) with contents only of the second mid-term. Only students who have obtained a mark equal to or higher than 4 out of 10 in the partial exam of the first term (EX1) may opt to take the second type of exam, having to obtain a mark equal to or higher than 4 out of 10 in order to obtain the average mark for EXF2. If both EX1 and EX2 are at least 4 out of 10, then EXF2 is the average of EX1 and EX2.
The final grade of the course (NF) in this exam session will be obtained as follows:
PR = Average of the Practical marks out of 10.
EXF2 = Final Examination mark out of 10 (which can be a single “complete” exam or the average of EX1 with EX2 if both are at least 4 out of 10).
SE6 = Observation of the student’s work out of 10.
NF = (PR·0,2) + (SE6·0,05) + (EXF2 ·0,75)
In case the grade EXF2 is lower than 5, the final grade of the subject will be the grade obtained in this exam: NF = EXF2
1st call (December-January) or 3rd call (June-July)
There will be a final exam of the whole subject (EXF1, EXF3) which will have a weighting of 100 %.
EXF1= Grade of the final exam out of 10 in the 1st call.
EXF3= Grade of the final exam out of 10 at the 3rd call.
Other considerations:
- In order to pass the course, the student must obtain a weighted average mark equal to or higher than 5 out of 10 in EXF1, EXF2 or EXF3.
- The teaching staff will select and determine the practical activities to be carried out during the academic year from those that appear in the teaching guide. Exceptionally, a practical activity related to the contents that does not appear in the guide may be carried out.
- The dates of the final exams of all the sessions will be those set by the corresponding Vice-Deanship.
- The subject will not be passed if at least 25 % of the maximum grade corresponding to units 1, 2 and 3 and another 25 % of the maximum grade corresponding to units 4, 5 and 6 are not obtained in all the exams.
- The 2nd semester partial exam (EX2) will take place at the same time as the final comprehensive exam (EXF2), this being considered one of the two mutually exclusive modalities.
- All final exams may have a part in which a minimum number of marks must be obtained in order to pass the exam.
- The continuous assessment of the course is only valid for the 2nd call (May-June).
- Serious spelling mistakes are considered to be, among others, those related to the technical terminology of the subject.
- The practicals are not compulsory, but those who do not do them will have a grade of 0 in practicals (PR) in the second call, with no influence in the rest of the calls.
